RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design editorial pages using InDesign, Quark Xpress or the Quark Publishing System (QPS).
• Attend and direct photo shoots on location and in the studio.
• Consult with editorial staff to develop dynamic concepts for features and articles.
• Hire photographers and illustrators and work with these individuals to create appropriate visuals for assigned articles. This includes negotiating fees, first draft and final art critiques, contract reviews, and illustration or photograph subject matter.
• Color correct/retouch electronic images using Adobe Photoshop.
• Traffic editorial pages between art departments and vendor.
• Plan and design items such as brochures, logos, posters, training & development manuals
and packaging materials.
• Develop visual concepts and mock-ups for client-related materials.
• Create in-house digital images including photo montages, spot illustrations, graphs and charts.
• Handle on-site press checks to ensure quality control.
